Abstract: Creating a new partition fails when using a number as the unique identifier prefix

When creating a new partition in LANSA AD, the user is asked to assign a unique identifier prefix. This is used to label all objects in this partition so that they are associated with this partition. Most customers work through the alphabet starting with A, then B, then C, etc. If the partition identifier has already been used, a prompt will ask you to try again.

You can also use numbers as the unique partition identifier. If you do, this will continue whether or not that prefix has been used. In the last screen, this fatal message will appear.

If you use the second level help text, you will see...

Duplicate record key in member [email protected]

Duplicate key on access path.

To solve this problem, use don't use numbers, use the alphabet characters.  This issue has been resolved in LANSA V11.
