Updated driver for USB dongles
|Product/Release:||Visual LANSA V9.1|
|Abstract:||If the USB dongle is not being recognized, applying the latest driver may resolve the issue|
|Submitted By:||LANSA Technical Support|
Occasionally, USB dongles (and sometimes the parallel port dongles) are not being recognized in Windows 2000 and Windows XP.
The first troubleshooting step should be to install the latest dongle drivers available from the manufacturers Web site to see if this resolves the issue. Installing the latest dongle driver has already resolved USB dongle problems on both Windows 2000 and Windows XP.
Before installing a new dongle driver, the current dongle driver must be uninstalled. The dongle driver can be uninstalled by selecting Programs -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs from the list of currently installed programs, select Sentinel System Driver and Remove.
After successfully removing the current dongle driver, you can either download the latest driver from the Safenet web site.
Or download Sentinel System Driver version 5.39.2 from the
Sentinel System Driver version 5.39.2
Note 1: LANSA does not have any dongle settings. If LANSA can't find it, it is not installed properly.
Note 2: In Visual LANSA 9.1, Windows XP is not Confirmed until the first service pack for XP is available. At the time this is written, the first service pack for XP is not available. For more information please refer to the downloadable Supported Platforms document on the Supported Versions page.
