Fatal Error Invoking VisioEvent when starting Logical Modeler

Sometimes, after installing or removing a LANSA configuration, starting the Logical Modeler can result in the following messages:

This can occur because the Active-X control that maintains the link to Visio has become corrupt.


Luckily the Active-X control in question is self-registerable, so it can be fixed without the need to reinstall LANSA. To do this, open a DOS Prompt and navigate to the <LANSA Root>\LANSA directory. If there are multiple LANSA configurations, choose one configuration which is not likely to be uninstalled soon. Once the command prompt is there type the following command:

VisioEventSink.exe /RegServer

And press Enter. There will be no messages to indicate whether it was successful, since this was designed to run during the LANSA installation. However you can verify that it has worked by starting LANSA and attempting to launch Logical Modeler.
