VLF.NET with a System i Apache Web Server

Date: 10 December 2008
Product/Release: Visual LANSA Framework EPC831
Abstract: Apache settings required to run VLF.NET application
Submitted By: LANSA Technical Support

EPC831 introduced VLF.NET which allows any VLF web applications to be compiled as .NET executables on a browser.

Like all VLF Web applications you can run the application with a System i Web Server or with an IIS Plugin Web Server.

If you are going to use VLF.NET with a System i Apache Web Server you need to ensure the following are added into your Apache configuration file:

AddType application/x-ms-application application
AddType application/x-ms-manifest manifest
AddType application/octet-stream deploy

You can use WRKLNK to edit your Apache configuration or use the IBM Apache Administration interface (ie. *ADMIN) to edit these settings for Content Settings into the MIME setup.

For more information on VLF.NET configuration please refer to the VLF online documentation.
