Licenses

Yes.
If you develop your own apps using LongRange Studio, LongRange Server licenses are only perpetual. If you do not develop apps, you can choose either a perpetual or a subscription LongRange Server license.
A trial license is the default license when LongRange Server is initially downloaded and installed on an IBM i server. You must request a trial license to use LongRange Server on a Windows server.

A LongRange Server license certifies that a server is permitted to run LongRange server and allowed to run only specified LongRange apps.
LongRange Server is certified to an IBM i or Windows server.
Apps are certified and signed to run on a nominated server by means of a Corporate Identification Key (CIK).

The apps will operate until the trial period expires.
You should request LongRange Studio licenses before the trial period expires.

Yes. A LongRange Studio license certifies and signs apps to run on a specified IBM i or Windows server and LongRange Server.

Yes. LongRange Studio is licensed to run on a specified developer computer.

Yes. A license is required to certify the app with each IBM i or Windows server on which the app developed using LongRange Studio will run.

LongRange app

Download the app from an app store and install it on your mobile device.

Android devices - download the app from Google Play.

The app must be installed on each mobile device that will use apps developed using LongRange Studio. LongRange imposes no limit to the number of mobile devices.

You need to install the LongRange mobile device app on your mobile device to run apps developed using LongRange Studio.

LongRange Server

Yes. You need a license to run apps you develop using LongRange Studio and a separate license for each 3rd party or software vendor from whom you obtain apps.

Yes. LongRange Server on IBM i servers receive a trial license automatically.
To use LongRange Server on a Windows server you must request a trial license.

LongRange Studio

Complete the LongRange Studio licence request form on the website. The license code(s) will be emailed to you.

Each developer computer on which LongRange Studio is installed requires a license. The license contains the LongRange Corporate Identification Key (CIK) which LongRange Studio uses to certify and sign apps developed using LongRange Studio. These apps can only run on a LongRange Server with a license containing the same CIK.

The LongRange Corporate Identification Key (CIK) certifies and signs apps developed using LongRange Studio to operate with a licensed LongRange Server.
You will receive a CIK when you purchase a LongRange Server license if you are developing your own apps using LongRange Studio.
If you run only apps supplied by 3rd parties or software vendors you use the CIK supplied by them.

Yes. You can request additional licenses at any time. When requesting licenses you will need a CIK and the details of each computer on which you intend to install and use LongRange Studio.

Yes, but apps you develop will not run on an IBM i or Windows server with a licensed LongRange Server.

You can download LongRange Studio when you download LongRange Server, or go to the LongRange Studio download page on the website.

LongRange Studio will continue to run indefinitely in trial mode. However, apps built with a trial version of LongRange Studio will cease running when the LongRange Server trial period expires.
When you purchase a LongRange Server license, you can also request and then install license(s) for LongRange Studio.

Yes, the apps will operate until the trial period expires.

You may be able to extend the trial period by requesting an extension to the trial license.
